Curtain Making & Blinds

The team at Compton Smith’s showroom offer personal and professional help in the showroom and on site visits to help you choose your window treatments. All of our soft furnishings are made by fully experienced curtain makers and craftsmen. We offer a full measuring and making up service including fitting, hanging and dressing. Our showroom houses designer fabric, curtain poles and trimmings making it the perfect place to come and browse.

We make, supply and fit curtains, pelmets & curtain valances, Roman blinds, roller blinds, Venetian blinds, bed valances and bed spreads.

Our curtains are made to measure. We can incorporate traditional and contemporary curtain styles. We use high quality cotton sateen linings, as well as medium-weight, pre-shrunk interlining and blackout linings when requested. Curtains are hand-sewn and weighted for a professional finish. Samples of curtains are on display in the showroom offering inspiration and ideas. We also supply and fit curtain poles and tracks.

To give an indication of price, to make a lined and interlined roman blind, 1 fabric width x 120cm drop, the cost would be £280.00 (inc. VAT). Cost excludes main fabric but includes all other materials. To make a pair of 2 width lined and interlined pinch pleat heading curtains, 220cm in length would cost £518.00 (inc. VAT). Cost excludes main fabric but includes all other materials.

Triple Pinch Pleat

A decorative and formal heading great for sitting rooms or dining rooms. Fully lined and interlined gives a luxurious finish on full length curtains.

Double Pinch Pleat

An alternative to the triple pleat for a less formal but still smart finish.

Pencil Pleat

A relaxed style popular for bedrooms or small windows. A deeper version is available as an option for long curtains if a luxurious look is still required.

Pencil Pleat Ruffle

An alternative to the standard pencil pleat. The tape is set down to create a ruffle along the top – a very pretty style well suited to cottage windows.

Decorative formal heading as an alternative to the pinch pleated styles.

Tab Top

A relaxed and modern style of curtain.
